The Wave Crew Wave Petunias | Cool Wave Pansies
We’re all about getting creative here at Wave! What better way to kick off the gardening season than with a DIY project. Grab your gloves, apron and your favourite Wave® flowers and let’s get to it. We’ll be creating a hanging plant wall for your outdoor oasis.
What you’ll need:
1. Hanging fabric shoe organiser
2. Wave Petunias
3. Gardening gloves
4. Soil or potting mix
5. Watering can
Step 1 – Hang your fabric shoe organiser
Find a place to hang your fabric shoe organiser outdoors. Hang it on a fence, gate or a privacy screen in your backyard or patio. Make sure it’s in a place that will get plenty of sunlight.
Step 2 – Choose your Wave Petunias
Wave Petunias come in many shades and hues. Having a variety of colours will look best on your wall for a spot that needs some extra cheer, or try your hand at a colour theme for your garden. Depending on the number of slots in your organiser, you’ll want to plant one plant per slot.
Step 3 – Scoop your soil
Take an empty Wave pot and use it to scoop your soil or potting mix. You’ll want to add enough to fill half of each pocket in your organiser.
Step 4 – Plant your Petunias
Once you choose yourarrangement of blooms in your organiser, plant your petunias in each of the slots and then continue to fill with soil leaving about 2.54 cm from the top.
Step 5 – Water, water, water
After all the slots are filled, water your plants thoroughly. Since this is a fabric shoe organiser, you’ll want to water your plants daily, so they don’t dryout. Try adding a slow-release or granular fertiliser to each pocket or schedule a regular liquid fertiliser routine.
Step 6 – Sit back, relax and enjoy
Congratulations, you’ve just made your own hanging plant wall! Whether on a balcony, patio or a lavish backyard oasis, you can add height and colour allseason long with this Wave DIY project.
