Fragrant Flowers
The Wave Crew  Wave Petunias | Cool Wave Pansies

Did you ever wonder why the scents you encounter in the garden make you feel so nostalgic? When you plant Wave Petunias, do you smile because it makes you think of spending time in grandma's garden? Or maybe your summer weeding chores with daddy as a child?

This happens because the brain's “smell-factory” is located in our body's limbic system, which is closely associated with memory and emotion. It's a powerful thing! And sometimes we can react strongly to a scent and trigger memories of an event, a person, a feeling, and so on. When we encounter a new smell, our brain links it to that memory, and it can be called up again and again each time we experience that scent … Your sweetheart's perfume, cleaning products, certain foods, and yes all the fragrances of the garden can have a lasting affect on your memories.

Petunias are not necessarily known as a scented flower, but there's no denying their special fragrance! Their scent is actually biological, to help attract bees, birds and other wildlife to encourage the pollination cycle. This means more flowers and lush Wave color!

We've found the Wave Petunias with the strongest scent to be the more saturated colors (the pinks and purples), although white has a heady fragrance, too. We hope the scent of Wave Petunias gives you happy thoughts … and helps you make more pleasant memories for visitors to your garden!
