Cover a fence or unsightly area (like an AC unit)
The most vigorous of all our Wave Petunias, Tidal Wave has a growth habit based on how closely the plants are spaced. Meaning the closer the spacing, the taller the plants! When spaced a minimum of 30 cm apart, the plants will form a dense, mounded hedge, with the ability to grow upward – about 1 m with proper support, like a fence.
But when given plenty of space, Tidal Wave makes a free blooming groundcover that spreads out 0.5 to 1 m. If you're trying to screen over an AC unit or other unsightly spot, put light wire fencing around the area. Plant Tidal Wave Petunias along the “fence” about every 30 cm and watch it make a natural concealer!
