Cover a fence or unsightly area (like an air conditioner)
The most vigorous of all our Wave Petunias, Tidal Wave has a growth habit based on how closely the plants are spaced. Meaning the closer the spacing, the taller the plants! When spaced a minimum of 12 in. (30 cm) apart, the plants will form a dense, mounded hedge, with the ability to grow upward – about 3 ft. (1 m) with proper support, like a fence.
But when given plenty of space, Tidal Wave makes a free blooming groundcover that spreads out 2.5 to 3 ft. (0.5 to 1 m). If you're trying to screen an air conditioner or other unsightly spot, put chicken wire around the area. Plant Tidal Wave Petunias along the area about every 12 in. (30 cm) and watch it make a natural concealer!
