3 Common Mistakes to Avoid in Your Flower Garden
The Wave Crew  Wave Petunias | Cool Wave Pansies

There are a few gardening culprits that many of us are guilty of. Here's a few to watch for as you plan your next season.

Putting Plants in the Wrong Spot
Your Wave Petunias won’t bloom or thrive on the shaded side of the house, and likewise, shade-lovers won’t do well on a sunny back patio.

The Fix: Before planning your garden, research sun and shade plants and have an idea in mind for how to fill each spot. And remember that Wave Petunias need 6+ hours of direct sunlight to perform at their best!

Placing Plants Too Close Together

Plants need air circulating around them and room to spread their branches and roots. Squeezing them in too closely invites disease, stretching and poor blooming.

The Fix: Research how far apart to plant and follow the recommended spacing intervals. Space Wave and Easy Wave® Petunias 12 to 24 inches apart in garden beds. Tidal Wave® Petunias grow according to how you space them: Spaced 12 inches apart, they form a dense, mounded hedge. Spaced a little farther apart – about 18 inches – they will perform as large, mounded bedding plants.

Not Planting Flowers to Attract Pollinators

Plants need to be pollinated to produce fruits and seeds. Some plants are self-pollinated, but many edible plants, like fruit and vegetable plants, need bees, flies, beetles, wasps and butterflies to carry pollen from plant to plant.

The Fix: Plant Wave Petunias with a variety of pollinator-friendly plants, such as Salvia, in your containers and landscape to attract these handy helpers.
