Mixing Petunias with Perennials
Suzette Rubio  Wave Blogger

You can absolutely mix your Wave® Petunias with perennials in patio containers and flower pots. Perennials often offer great texture to your mix along with the large, bright flowers of Wave plants filling and tumbling over the sides.

We’ve seen English Lavender, Echinacea (Coneflower), Lobelia (Cardinal Flower), Coreopsis (Tickseed) and Gaillardia (Blanket Flower) work well with our petunias. These varieties are mostly upright and taller plants that also create a lovely space for pollinators, like bees and butterflies.

If you have a partial-sun location and are looking for perennials, our Wave Petunias may not flower as well, but you can look for tall Dianthus (Pinks), Aquilegia (Columbine), Gaura, or Papaver (Icelandic Poppy). Your local garden center will also have great regional recommendations for your garden, too.

Give us your favorite suggestions for pairing perennials and petunias. Don’t forget to share them in the Comments section below.
