Do You Have a Favorite Planting Container (or Not)?
The Wave Crew  Wave Petunias | Cool Wave Pansies

What is your container of choice when it comes to planting your Wave Petunias? We asked our Pink Pot Ambassadors: In-Ground, Window Box, or Hanging Basket…Which is Your Favorite and Why?

Plants with bright pink blooms in outdoor containers

I love them all, but I have had to plant a lot of things in pots, containers, or window boxes as we have a bad gopher problem right now. Thankfully gophers don't seem to like to eat petunias...yet. -@flowerpatchfarmhouse

I prefer to plant annuals in planters – it just makes everything easier. I have killed a few too many window box and hanging basket arrangements to realize... that I, Michelle, am an inconsistent waterer. Planters right outside the door are something I walk past everyday, so it's very easy to tell when those need watering/attention. -@everydaygardeningtips

Plants under a tree along a fence with white and pink blooms

I think in ground vs. containers became my favorite way to plant flowers, just because it’s easy on me if I forget to water them. -@our.cozy.white.home

In ground planting for me! If you had asked me 5 years ago, I would've said planters. Since moving out of Brooklyn and into our house, we're still figuring out a watering routine that won't take us 2 hours. Until then, in ground planting is proving to be much easier to maintain here. -@broadwaygardener

I looove hanging baskets! They are so beautiful and I enjoy seeing flowers hanging around town. Hanging baskets are actually how I initially became obsessed with Petunias, then later finding out that Wave Petunias are even better performers than the standard petunias. -@guimondgardens

Red-bloomed plants in outdoor pots

We currently rent while we are building so I grow in all containers. One of the perks of container gardening is not worrying about critters eating the roots of your plants. I also love the versatility of being able to rearrange & move pots as I need to for pruning to make them more accessible for me when I have mobility issues & autoimmune/chronic illness flares. -@igardennow

Is it cheating for us to say “All of the above?” All are great options and if it makes you happy, stick a plant in there! Most of the time, we choose in the ground or in a planter so we can monitor them a little easier. We especially like planting in the ground because we are able to hide our drip irrigation tubing better and the plants get watered everyday automatically. -@trowelanderrorgardening

Hanging basket, for one reason only, to keep the deer from eating my beautiful flowers. They don't tend to come up onto my front porch. -@wildwestgardeneringgeorgia
