Take the Guesswork Out of Gardening: Best Flowers to Plant in the Early Spring

We’re here to help you take the guesswork out of gardening this spring. Don’t know where to start, or finally feeling inspired to make some additions to your backyard, porch or patio? We’ve got this season’s It List for Best Flowers to Plant in the Spring. Just be sure all signs of a late frost are behind you. Here we go!

1. Cool Wave® Pansies

Perfect in cooler weather and offers gorgeous spreading colour in your garden. Available in a variety of different colours and mixes to trail off the sides of your pots and hanging baskets, plus five unique hues to get you started.

2. Lavender

These beautiful, fragrant plants attract bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. Enjoy their small purple flowers from your patio garden or as a border around your landscape.

3. Dianthus

This early-spring favourite is an excellent performer in the garden. We love these long-lasting, fragrant blooms since they grow on strong, straight stems that can be cut and brought indoors to enjoy as a darling bouquet.

4. Lobelia

Free-flowering plants put on a luminous show in spring gardens, mixed combos and hanging baskets. Available in Lavender Pink and other cool hues that are just perfect for the season.

5. Phlox

This cool-season plant attracts plenty of butterflies and bees while adding vibrancy to landscapes and mixed containers.
